FAQ: Why can you buy new items like Aveda prodcuts and Gymboree clothes on Ebay?

For a variety of reasons. In the case of Aveda products, usually it's because a salon went out of business. They have tens of thousands of dollars of inventory and have to pay a 15%-25% re-stocking fee to return their product (which they purchased at about 50% off of retail). It makes more sense for the salon owner (who's now out of a job) to sell the items piece by piece for 20%-50% off retail than to return the items for a credit of only about 30 cents on the dollar.
