I am going to be traveling for the next couple of weeks – I’m headed to a conference in Scottsdale tomorrow morning, then off to NYC to another conference, then taking a little vacation in Philly.
As I was packing I got the idea to share my personal travel packing list with you. If you do not yet have a travel packing list, I invite you to use mine (below) and customize it for your own needs. I find that having a checklist to follow makes packing go much faster and puts my mind at ease that I have everything I need.
Don’t you hate it when you forget a necessity, such as deodorant, and then have to shell out $7 for it at the hotel gift shop? Or worse yet, you bring an evening dress for a special dinner you will be attending and then realize you have no shoes to wear with it!
I have made both of these mistakes and as a result, I created a travel packing list (and haven’t forgot anything since). You could print it, laminate it and keep it in your suitcase, or do what I do which is keep it on my computer. Either way, I highly recommend having a Travel Packing List.
If you go on tropical vacations or camping trips regularly, you may want to have custom packing lists for those trips. Below is my general travel packing list for “regular” short trips.
For the men: I recommend deciding between black and brown. Instead of packing black AND brown shoes, belt, sports coat, socks, etc. Pick one theme for the trip. It will save you a lot of space and decrease the chances that you will forget something.
If your on medications: I recommend carrying those on the plan with you in case they lose your luggage.
